Stuart Island is in Desolation Sound and is one of the Discovery Islands. Most visitors and residents arrive either by float plane, helicopter or water taxi. There is also an air strip for private wheel planes.
The area is best known for the pristine wilderness, adventure tours, and salmon fishing. There are two lodges in the area, one on Senora Island: the Relaix and Chateau Senora Lodge
and Nanook Lodge on Stuart Island.
If you do not own your own plane or boat, you can travel to Stuart Island a number of ways. There are scheduled float plane flights from Seattle: Corilair and Kenmore Air and water taxi service from Campbell River (36 miles).
The area is isolated but well serviced. What a beautiful area to own a waterfront residence.
